Last year’s Deathgasm was one of the best horror movies to come out of 2015. An instant cult classic, Deathgasm was said to be a horror film made by metalheads, for metalheads. It told the story of a pair of teenage headbangers avid fans of heavy metal music who delve into black magic with nothing else better to do, only to accidentally summon an incredible force of evil they must figure out how to stop. It was a refreshingly original film in the genre, and a lot of us have been anticipating its DVD and blu-ray release— which happens to be TODAY.
If you’re looking to get your own copy of Deathgasm at Walmart, though, you won’t find it. That’s not to say you won’t find the same movie. It’ll be there, but for its Walmart DVD and blu-ray release, the title of the film has been renamed to Heavy Metal Apocalypse. Alternate artwork was also ordered so as to remove the pentagram from the cover, replaced with an image that looks like the three lead characters are standing in a wasteland. It looks a lot like the poster for a Syfy original movie, which isn’t exactly a good thing.
